Child Protection

SJJ has established the call-receiving centre and responds to calls, 24 hours a day and provides the necessary emergency intervention and follow-up, conducts extensive outreach on child rights and networks with other organizations.

Health Centre

The outreach community health centre run by SJJ at its head quarter caters to around 1800 women, children and elderly including persons affected by leprosy and tuberculosis [T.B.]

Bonded Labour

Shantha Jeeva Jyothi has been appointed as a member of the District Level Vigilance Committee and is responsible for identifying and reporting instances of bonded labor and facilitating the rehabilitation of rescued bonded laborers.

Environment

The municipalities of Krishnarajapuram in Bangalore and Ramanagaram have engaged SJJ to implement the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) project on Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) in 66 wards of these towns in 2004.

Leprosy

To date, SJJ has successfully identified and cured 3,390 individuals affected by leprosy, ensuring that they do not develop new deformities or disabilities. Each year, SJJ provides treatment and support to approximately 100 new leprosy cases andover480 individuals

Charity healthy people better world

A group of qualified, trained, and experienced individuals in the fields of community development, preventive and curative health, and community-based rehabilitation came together to establish a non-profit voluntary organization in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka State, India, in 1988.This organization, called 'SHANTHA JEEVA JYOTHI' (SJJ), translates to life filled with the light of peace' in English. SJJ is registered under various acts, , including the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, Income Tax Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and Niti Aayog. It is also recognized under section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Our Mission

To enable vulnerable groups living in poor resource settings of rural and urban areas of Bangalore to organize themselves and mobilize their resources that, being liberated from all forms of limitations and alienations to live a decent and rightful human life with dignity and self-reliance.
